Agentic AI is moving out of the browser and into the physical world. ResolveGrid launched today with a platform that guides field service technicians through complex repairs in real time, cutting dispatches in half at early customers. The company is being brought to market as an independent business co-founded with Andrew Ng’s AI Fund, building on technology originating at Xerox, where it was proven across one of the world’s largest field service organizations.
ResolveGrid combines agentic AI, computer vision, and on-demand human experts to guide technicians through complex repairs as they happen. The platform sits between field technicians and the enterprise systems they rely on. It ingests existing manuals, repair videos, and work notes; uses computer vision to identify the equipment in front of the technician; and generates step-by-step guidance on the fly. When a job requires judgment beyond what the AI can provide, the technician pulls in a remote expert over video, with full workflow context already in place.
Early deployments have dramatically reduced service times and first-visit failures, with most issues now resolved remotely – without a return visit.
“Skilled field service technicians are in short supply, and the equipment they service keeps getting more complex,” said Andrew Ng, Managing General Partner of AI Fund. “Jens Meggers and the ResolveGrid team are building agentic AI that works alongside these technicians to help them solve harder problems on the first visit and keep critical equipment running.”
The field service category is projected to grow from $5.5 billion today to more than $24 billion by 2035, driven by a global shortage of skilled technicians and the growing complexity of the equipment they service.
“We’ve watched this technology evolve from CareAR within Xerox into what is now ResolveGrid, and we’ve seen firsthand how it fundamentally reshapes field service operations,” said Louie Pastor, CEO of Xerox. “Our long-standing partnership gives us conviction that their agentic AI platform doesn’t just improve field service; it redefines what’s possible when AI works alongside skilled technicians. This is the future of the industry, and ResolveGrid is uniquely positioned to lead it.”
ResolveGrid is aimed at complex electronics, telecommunications, medical devices, transportation, and manufacturing – industries where repeat service engagements are expensive and senior expertise is scarce. The platform is available now for enterprise customers at ResolveGrid.ai.
